Detroit-based creative Melissa Coulier has built a dynamic career bridging the worlds of advertising photography and holistic wellness. Known for creating vibrant advertising campaigns and authentic celebrity portraits, Melissa spent years thriving in Los Angeles photo studios, on-location shoots, and even under the expansive skies of Montana. Her warm personality, gregarious nature, and keen eye for detail have made her a favorite among clients ranging from Cherokee Global Brands and Tony Hawk to HarperCollins and People Magazine.
Melissa’s creative journey began in Montana, where the great outdoors served as her first muse. Days spent hiking, building forts, and capturing moments with her first camera—a gift from her grandmother at age 11—fueled her passion for storytelling through imagery. After studying photography in Florence and working with top photographers in Los Angeles, Melissa launched Bring Media with her brother, providing photography and video services. From there, Melissa Coulier Photography was born, earning a client roster that spanned fashion, publishing, and lifestyle brands.
Despite her success, Melissa faced a turning point in her life and health that led her to embrace holistic living. Diagnosed with lupus, she transformed her lifestyle through functional movement, mindful nutrition, and intentional living. This personal journey inspired her to pivot her career toward helping others achieve vitality and balance.
Today, Melissa co-owns Live Well Lead Well, a wellness brand dedicated to empowering women leaders through retreats, seminars, and online coaching. As a certified Fitness Instructor and Function First Pain-Free Movement Specialist, she focuses on rebuilding strength, lowering inflammation, and promoting resilience through low-impact, functional exercise. Melissa believes in the power of movement, mindfulness, and nourishing the body to unlock leadership potential and foster lasting well-being.
Melissa resides in Detroit, Michigan, with her husband and their two dogs, Cooper and Ziggy. When she’s not empowering women through her wellness practice, Melissa can be found hiking, cooking, boating or traveling—always with her camera close at hand, capturing the beauty of life through every phase of her journey.
